Company

A family business.
Two generations.
Five decades.

Baier Stahlhandel was founded in Karlsruhe in 1971. Today Diana Baier-Körner leads the company in the second generation — at the same location, at the Rheinhafen, with a team of around 40 people who know what a bending list error costs on a construction site.

My grandfather would not have sold steel he had not lifted himself. We still hold to that rule today.

What we stand on

Three things we insist on.

HOLD

When you buy steel, you buy trust.

We have customers who have been ordering from us for 30 years. We keep those relationships because we have not been sold, have not merged and do not intend to.

MEASURE

Our hall has stood since 1971.

On Nordbeckenstraße. This is not a temporary yard. We see the ships before they are unloaded. That shortens lead times by hours, sometimes by days.

NEAR

Led by a woman.

In an industry where decisions are mostly made between men, our house is led by a woman. That changes nothing about the quality of the steel. But perhaps it changes how we deal with the people who depend on us.

One call is enough.
